Florida law dictates only the minor's natural parent or legal guardian may provide consent. Under Florida law, anyone under 18 wishing to be pierced (yes, even lobes!) must provide:
All of the above documents are required at every minor piercing appointment, regardless of age.
Anyone under 16 MUST be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian during the procedure. Minors 16 or older still need all legally required documentation and notarized consent, but guardian does not need to be present.
For more information on children's lobe piercings (ages 8-12), check out our blog post on the subject.
We often get questions about how old someone has to be to get a specific piercing. Ultimately, whether or not we will perform a piercing on a minor is dependent on factors like anatomy, lifestyle, and whether the person being pierced already has experience healing other piercings. With each minor service on the booking page we have included a typical age range that we like to stick to for piercings that are more difficult to heal and piercings that incur a risk of facial scarring, dental damage, etc. If you are interested in a specific piercing but don’t fall within the age range we have listed, we encourage you to set up a consultation appointment with a piercer to discuss the piercing in-person.
